Control Resonant Collectibles Guide: All Artifacts, Talent Shards & Lore Documents by Zone

2026-06-09·Secrets & Collectibles

Artifacts are how you build your character in Control Resonant. Talent Shards are free Talent points. Lore documents are, well, lore. But some of them contain mechanical hints you won't find anywhere else. Here's every collectible I've found, organized by zone.

I haven't found everything. This game is dense and some areas require ability levels I haven't reached in every playthrough. But this covers every collectible I've personally confirmed.

Financial District Collectibles

The FBC Duty Badge is the first Artifact most players find. It's the reward for Agent Park's side mission at the Forward Operations Base. Flat 8% damage to all Aberrant forms. Equip it and never take it off for the first half of the game.

The Field Medic's Kit is in the collapsed subway entrance near the Oldest House exit. 5% health recovery on weapon form kills. Grab it before the Pattern-Keeper fight.

There's a Talent Shard in two locations. The first is on a corpse in the Oldest House records room during the prologue. The second is in the rooftop briefcase behind the Federal Reserve building. Two free Talent points in the first zone if you explore.

The Broker's Ledger requires Reach level 2 to access, so you'll need to come back after Midtown. It's on a rooftop behind the Federal Reserve building. Stacking damage bonus per kill without taking damage. Excellent Artifact, worth the backtrack.

Lore documents in the Financial District: there's Jesse's expedition memo in the subway collapse, an FBC incident report in the Forward Operations Base describing the first Pattern emergence, and a personal log from Agent Park in her field kit that gives background on the side mission.

Midtown Collectibles

Dr. Yoshida's first quest reward is a Talent Shard. Her lab is in the Midtown FBC outpost, near the zone entrance. She's the researcher studying Pattern resonance and you can't miss her.

The Shifting Edge Artifact drops from the Pattern-Weaver optional Resonant in the subway system. 3% attack speed per unique weapon form used in the last ten seconds. Stacks up to three times if you're cycling forms. This is a core Artifact for any build that emphasizes form switching.

The Heavy Plating Fragment is in a Pattern cache in a collapsed office building near the Thread-Mother's arena. Look for a room with Pattern residue on all four walls. The Artifact is in a briefcase on the desk. Reduces damage taken during charged attacks, stacks with the Survival tree Talent that does the same thing.

There's a Talent Shard in Central Park, near the frozen fountain in the center of the zone. The Resonance-Shaper optional boss is also in Central Park. Its reward is the Resonance Echo Artifact: 10% damage to all forms against Resonant-type enemies.

Lore documents in Midtown: Dr. Yoshida's research notes in her lab (three documents, read all of them for context on the Pattern), a letter from an FBC agent to their family that's surprisingly affecting, and the Alan Wake manuscript page in an apartment near the Thread-Mother arena. The manuscript page is the one that describes Dylan waking up.

Upper East Side Collectibles

The scythe form unlocks from the Rift-Titan optional boss. It's the most important item in this zone. The Titan's arena is near the Guggenheim.

The Gravity Well Fragment is in a Pattern cache in the Metropolitan Museum. Increases Shift duration by 1.5 seconds. Essential for the Caster scythe build.

The Pattern Conduit drops from the Void-Caller optional boss, which requires Shift level 3 and Reach level 3 to access. 10% chance to reset Reach cooldown on kill. It's rare and hard to get but it's one of the best Artifacts for mobility builds.

The Aberrant Amplifier is in a penthouse apartment reachable via Shift wall-walking. Increases charged attack damage for all forms by 12%. Good general-purpose Artifact.

Talent Shards in the Upper East Side: one in the Guggenheim basement, one on a rooftop near the Void-Caller arena entrance, one in the Museum of the City of New York. Three free Talent points.

Lore documents: the Night Springs TV studio episode script, an FBC containment report on Dylan from seven years ago, and a note from Jesse addressed to Dylan that you find in the Metropolitan Museum. The Jesse note is a key character moment.

Harlem Collectibles

The Pattern Analyst's Lens is Dr. Yoshida's final quest reward. Shows enemy health bars and weakness indicators. Quality of life item, not essential but nice to have.

The Resonant Ward Artifact is in an FBC emergency shelter in the basement of a church. Reduces damage taken from Resonant-type enemies by 15%. Useful for the final gauntlet.

There's a Talent Shard in the Harlem Rift area, near the duo Pattern-Warden boss arena. It's on a floating platform you need Reach level 3 to get to.

Lore documents: Dr. Yoshida's final research conclusions (the most comprehensive explanation of what the Pattern is), an FBC evacuation order, and the Harlem hotline phone call transcript.

Oldest House Return Collectibles

When you return to the Oldest House for the Echo of the Director fight, there are collectibles you missed in the prologue. Or rather, new ones that appeared because the Pattern has spread.

The Aberrant Core Artifact is the final boss reward. Carries into NG+. 5% damage to all forms and 25% form switch cooldown reduction. Cornerstone of NG+ builds.

Dylan's cell drawings are interactive during this return segment. Each drawing triggers a Dylan monologue. Not a collectible in the traditional sense but it's missable content.

There's a Talent Shard in the Director's office, Jesse's old office, behind a Pattern-locked door that opens during the return segment. The office also has several lore documents about Jesse's investigation into the Pattern.

Pattern Core Collectibles

The final zone has no collectibles in the traditional sense. The final boss arena is a gauntlet with no exploration. Whatever you haven't found by this point, you'll need to get in NG+ or a new playthrough.

However, the rest point before the final boss has a workbench and a vendor that sells any Artifacts you might have missed from earlier zones. The prices are high, Pattern Residue is the currency, but if you're missing something critical for your build, this is the last chance to get it before the final boss.
